About these terms
These terms apply to the digital tools in RFI Digital Commons, Knowledge Keeper, Systems Canvas and FieldKit, provided by Relational Futures Institute LBG, a company limited by guarantee registered in Ghana (registration number CG059190926). The website’s general terms of use and privacy notice also apply.
Free to use
The tools are free. You do not need an account. Where a voluntary contribution option is shown, it is entirely optional and is never required to use, install or export from any tool.
Your content stays yours
RFI claims no ownership of anything you enter into the tools. Knowledge and material you record remain the content of you and of the knowledge holders and communities concerned. Using the tools does not transfer any rights in that knowledge to RFI.
You remain responsible for your own ethical and legal obligations, including obtaining and respecting consent, following applicable law, and honouring the customary rules of the communities you work with.
Where your data is kept
What you enter is stored in your own browser on your own device. RFI does not automatically receive it. Because of this, keeping backups is your responsibility: RFI cannot recover records that are lost when a device is lost, broken or reset, or when browser data is cleared.
Responsible use
Please do not use the tools to record or share knowledge without the consent of the people who hold it, or in ways that go against the access level they agreed. Treat restricted and sensitive records with particular care.
No guarantees
The tools are provided free and “as is”. We work to make them reliable, but they may contain errors, and features may change between versions. To the extent permitted by law, RFI is not liable for loss of data stored on your device or for how you use the tools and their outputs.
The software
The software is © Relational Futures Institute LBG. It is free to use but is not open-source software. Please do not copy, modify, resell or redistribute it. The tools are available only from relationalfuturesinstitute.org.
Changes
We may update the tools and these terms. Each tool shows its version number, and significant changes will be noted in its guide.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.
